Welcome to a website about being an adopted child.

Swedish adopted children are not very usual today, but at the time when I was born, in the 40s, it was quite common to have children adopted. I will not put any values on either the adoption as such, what it is like to be an adopted child or what could possibly be right or wrong.

I just want to tell you my story, hoping that it may help others in similar situations. I also want to share my experiences with you and tell you how I set about to search for my roots. Moreover, I want to show you how my own background story is related to the time it was set in and how it depicts the stress people deciding to have a baby adopted were exposed of.

Finally, I want to thank you who take part of this website, and of course I want to thank all the people who in fact have made this story possible – my parents and my brothers and sister!

To protect the integrity of the persons involved, all the personal names are fictitious.
